Big news today! We’re thrilled to announce that version 2 of the ROR schema and API is now live. After many months of work by the ROR team, and thanks to a great deal of community feedback and input, ROR users can now choose to use a more streamlined and powerful version of ROR that includes created and last modified dates for records, a place to store language codes for all name types, and a more streamlined and flexible structure. Read more about this major milestone on our blog and in our changelog.
With our latest update of the ROR registry, v1.45 of the data, we’ve added 110 records and modified 106 records in both versions of the API as well as in CSV and JSON files in both v1 and v2 schemas in the data dump on Zenodo. Read the release notes for more information about the new data. In the next month, we’ll be issuing some updates that will add values to some of the new fields and sub-fields in v2 of ROR, so keep an eye out for those.
We’ll be more than happy to answer any questions you have about v2 of ROR and to help you switch over to it, although v1 of the ROR schema and API will remain available through at least April 2025 and probably beyond. You can reply to this post or write support@ror.org for help.
Many thanks to all of you for your ongoing support of ROR!
