Could you please help step by step how to make DOI for the article (from the journal). I have access (we paid for it) but I still do not exactly understand what website I have t use to create DOI, what I need to chose there? Crossref website even don’t let me log-in… Not clear answer what to do now
Hi Mary,
If you’re asking about how to construct DOIs and assign them to your publications, please see our guidance on that here.
Once you’ve assigned the DOIs, you will need to register them. To register a DOI, you have to submit the DOI, a resolution URL, and some required metadata to Crossref’s system. There are a few methods to do that, depending on on your situation.
Please review the options here, and if you have any further questions, please let me know which method you’ll be using.
Hello! Try to contact you Shayn with the new question - how to check the status of the account now?
Hi @Mary ,
Thanks for following up. I can confirm the status of your account. What is your DOI prefix and/or Crossref username?
-Isaac
Hello Isaac (or Ifarley?),
Member name: European Academy of Sciences of Ukraine
Our DOI prefix: 10.61439
Username: mary.saparkina@gmail.com

Please let me know the status of account and we need to pay.

Hi @Mary ,
Your account (DOI prefix 10.61439 / role easu
) is active and in good standing. There are no payments due at this time. You should receive an end-of-year invoice the first week of January 2025 for you outstanding content registration fees, but nothing is due at the moment.
You should be able to sign and in register new DOIs with your credentials.

Hello!
2 days ago I tried to use DOI. As I know it has to work in 24 hours. But it still doesn’t work. What is the reason?
Can you please check?
Sincerely
Mary
Hello @Mary ,
Thanks for your message.
I see your failed submission from 2024-Nov-30.
As you can see from the screenshot, we processed this submission in six seconds and failed the whole file because one of your DOIs contained invalid characters that are not supported. DOI 10.61439/A%D0%A1YH4871
contains the %
character which is not permitted in Crossref DOIs, as you can in our rules for constructing your DOIs. Your DOI suffix can be any alphanumeric string, using the approved characters “a-z”, “A-Z”, “0-9” and “-._;()/”.
You’ll need to resubmit your submission with the invalid characters (i.e., the %
s characters) removed from this DOI in order for your DOI(s) to be registered.
Warm regards,
Isaac
Hello,
Is there an option to chat privately on the forum? If not, is it safe to share personal contact details, or should it be avoided?
Hello @Matty ,
You can send us private messages on the forum. Or, you can always reach us at support@crossref.org if you have a question that you do not wish to ask publicly.
