Summary of abstract: Metadata is like a flower, serving as extra information which provides context to the main data. Like the preservation of a flower through Persistent Identifiers (PID), references to digital objects remain unchanged, even if the digital object undergoes changes. Sharing metadata is like a pollinator spreading pollen, aiding the distribution of information to enhance the quality and diversity of data. This not only helps in better understanding of the data, efficient decision-making, and discovery of related datasets but also promotes transparency, auditability, and quality assurance - building trust and collaboration, much like sharing a flower symbiotically benefits individuals and organizations.
