Retrieving views and downloads of an article

Hi Everyone,

I would somehow like to retrieve the number of views and downloads (not citations) of an article through the API. These numbers are available on the journal websites, but I am not sure how to retrieve them.

Kind regards,

Deni

Hi Deni,

Many thanks for your message.

Unfortunately, we don’t have a way for you to retrieve the number of views and downloads of an article made through our API.

However, we do provide a monthly resolution report for the 10 most resolved DOIs for your prefix. We do receive these reports from the Corporation for National Research Initiatives (CNRI) during the first week of each month, we package that data into your monthly report, and then we distribute the reports to all our members.

I hope this helps. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

Best,

Evans

You can find information on the total doi deposits by a crossref member and the Journal impact factor on qtanalytics.in/crossref-doi

Thanks for the reply! I was wondering whether there is a possibility to include these statistics in the API? If so, is there someone I can contact for this?

Kind regards,

Deni

Hi Deni,

Thanks for following up. We have no plans to add resolution numbers to our API.
